Masquerain

Masquerain is a filter that transform the images on teletext stills. In order to do this it uses a process that calculates the closest colors in the color space to those allowed in the level 1 standard of 1976.

The second part of the process is to determine which alphamosaic characters should be used in order to compose the image, which is also done automatically. Also the size is modified to follow the proportions of a TV screen.

The package provides both the filter and a utility that uses OpenCV to create a real time stream of the webcam images transformed to teletext stills.
